Yuni (Hoa Yun) Chung is a Berlin based transdisciplinary artist working across performance, choreography, installation, sound, video, and text. Her practice asks how bodies become sites where histories and systems of power are inscribed, and how these inscriptions can be reimagined through scores, metaphors, and spatial formats. Her work shifts across diverse spaces, approaching them as scores that fracture binary structures and reconfigure how bodies relate, appear, and are remembered.
Chung moves between different embodied archives, from the standardized gestures of Korea’s National Gymnastics (Gukminchejo) to the everyday gestures of cooking and fermentation developed in the Chōri Collective, which she co founded. In both, she treats recipes and movements as mutable scores, reworking them into collaborative practices that reveal how rhythms, memories, and ideologies inhabit the body.
